The trailer offers the most extensive preview of the show’s premise so far, with stars Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Steve Carell dealing with personal and public drama both behind the camera and in front of it as they navigate the world of morning news television.

The series will “pull back the curtain on the power dynamic between women and men” in the professional world, according to Witherspoon and Aniston, who previously introduced the series during Apple’s presentation of Apple TV+ in June. Two seasons of The Morning Show have already been ordered by Apple, and filming is reportedly concluded on the first season.

Earlier in August, Apple released a teaser for the series (see below) that took the audience through the studio where the show is filmed, slowly panning from one door and desk to another, with snippets of dialogue from the series’ stars. The show is  particularly notable for bringing Carell back to TV for his first starring role since The Office.

The Morning Show has Aniston and Witherspoon teaming up both in front of the camera and behind it, as the duo also serve as producers on the series. Joining the three aforementioned A-listers in the cast are Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Duplass, Billy Crudup, and Nestor Carbonell.

Promotion of The Morning Show appears to have shifted into a higher gear, with Apple launching social media accounts for the series on Twitter and Instagram in early August.

The Morning Show is the second Apple TV+ original series to get an official trailer, following the June debut of a preview for For All Mankind, Apple’s alternate-history series set in a world where the international space race never ended. That series has award-winning Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek writer Ronald D. Moore on board as creator and co-writer, along with Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi.

Apple TV+ is expected to launch at some point this fall, although the company has kept details scarce regarding when and where the subscription-based video service will be available. Pricing for the service is also unknown at this point.

Updated on August 19, 2019: Added the first trailer for the series.

Quentin Tarantino thinks movies are still better than TV shows like Yellowstone
Quentin Tarantino sits at a table with a mic and stares.

Television has evolved a lot since the prestige TV booms of the late '90s and mid-2000s, but Inglourious Basterds and Pulp Fiction writer-director Quentin Tarantino still prefers movies to the shows of the small screen. The filmmaker revealed as much during a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience with his Video Archives Podcast co-host Roger Avary.

"Everyone talks about how great television is now, and it’s pretty good, I gotta say. It’s pretty good. But it’s still television to me,” the Oscar-winning director explained. "I’ll use an example of a show: Yellowstone. I didn’t get around to watching it the first three years or so, and then I watched the first season and I thought, ‘Wow, this is f***ing great. I’ve always been a Kevin Costner fan, and he is wonderful in this,' and I got caught up in the show and all of a sudden, I’m having a good time."
