The 2010 Kia Shadow Dragon Soul is the third vehicle in a line of special edition Soul cars from Kia—and this time it features automotive tattoos. The sleek Shadow Dragon features a Soul-first leather-trimmed interior and crowd-sourced black dragon graphics “car tattoos.” And just in case inking up your car wasn’t cool enough the Shadow Dragon also includes the Audio Upgrade Package with its center speaker, subwoofer, external amp and those trick speaker lights that pulse to the beat of the music. The new Soul-car also boasts an iPod connector, Bluetooth, moonroof, foglights and fender vents with encapsulated side markers.

“Soul is a unique vehicle in that it lends itself perfectly to personalization based on consumer needs and desires,” said Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing, KMA. “With its one-of-a-kind paint and graphic treatments, the Shadow Dragon Soul could be the most distinctive special-edition Soul we’ve released so far, but still maintains the same value, convenience and safety features that consumers have come to know and expect from all Soul trim levels.”

Kia says the Shadow Dragon Soul is the latest example of the urban passenger’s ability to morph and transform their vehicle. The South Korea-based company also claims the new Shadow Dragon Soul joins all other Soul models as a 2010 “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

But plenty of people still want a greener vehicle, and that has given rise to an explosion in hybrid vehicle sales.

That's especially true of plug-in hybrid vehicles, which can be charged like an EV and driven in all-electric mode for short distances, and have a gas engine as a backup for longer distances or to be used in combination with electric mode for more efficient driving.

Nearly all current owners of electric vehicles (EVs) are either satisfied or very satisfied with the experience, and 92% of them plan to buy another EV, according to a survey by the Global EV Drivers Alliance.

The survey of 23,000 EV drivers worldwide found that only 1% would return to a petrol or diesel car, while 4% would opt for a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) if they had to replace their car.
