This story is part of Digital Trends' Cyber Monday coverage 2024

If you’ve been thinking about tightening the security on your computer, you should grab a VPN subscription during Cyber Monday deals, and some of these are even better than during Black Friday. VPNs help protect your information, as well as unlock regional content on streaming services, which are all extremely useful. Try using them with the Cyber Monday laptop deal or Cyber Monday iPad deal you also scored to make yourself feel safer and more nimble when you use the devices online. To help you out, we’ve pulled a list of the best options available today.

Surfshark One (2 years + 4 bonus months) — $70 $503 86% off

Our Surfshark review focused on the Surfshark One product, finding that it had incredibly quick speeds, great customer service, and nice dedicated antivirus software to make your browsing even safer. And right now it is just $2.49 per month for two years with a bonus four months, just because.

PureVPN Standard (5 years) — $106 $957 89% off

This has to be one of the best deals if you’re just looking for longevity of service. Where VPNs get you is the big cost in the re-up, not the initial sale. Grab this and get 60 months at a rate of $2 per month and forget about VPN hopping for quite some time.

AdGuard (2 years) — $43 $288 85% off

AdGuard offers a pretty interesting setup that can be accessed completely for free and then upgraded later if you want whole-device protection. As an unusual (but VPN-adjacent) quirk, it even lets you pay in cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

NordVPN Plus (27 months) — $105 $405 74% off

NordVPN

NordVPN is probably one of the best-known VPNs out there and is even on our list of best VPNs. The 27-month Plus plan comes with many added benefits besides the VPN, including malware protection, tracker and ad blockers, a password manager, and a data breach detector. At 27 months, it also helps circumvent (at least for awhile) the biggest complaint from our NordVPN review: the subscription price after the first year.

IPVanish Essential (2 years) — $53 $180 71% off

IPVanish’s Essential plan may not come with cloud backup or phone support, but it does give you threat protection and VPN usage on unlimited devices for just $2.19 a month (with this deal) and a 30-day money-back guarantee, making it an extremely affordable plan for anyone.

How to choose a VPN on Cyber Monday

If you don’t care about any specific feature, and just want a VPN to mask your location or add to your privacy, there is basically just one stat for you to look at — contract length.

VPNs often have great deals on their 1-year, 2-year, or even longer plans. And around Cyber Monday, it can reach over 80% off. The problem? If you forget to cancel you have to pay the original price. So, if you find a decent VPN that has the features you want, getting a long contract with a locked in deal price is a huge win for you. Ultimately, VPNs will only ever cost you a few dollars a month if you plan your deals strategically and always remember to cancel your plan before it renews.

If you do care about extra features, pay attention to common extras like password managers, antivirus protection, and bonus cloud storage and/or backup. These typically don’t add too much to service costs when part of a Cyber Monday year-long or multi-year deal package.

How we chose these VPN Cyber Monday deals

We started looking at our reviews — what we like, and what we don’t like. We then head out and find the best deals on these items, so we’re purposefully curating, instead of filling the list with products that just happen to be discounted. We think a smaller, more definitive list is better than a list of a thousand products.

We also include things we haven’t reviewed where it makes sense, doing our research to make sure it’s a quality product. We’re looking at reviews from subject matter experts and on the shopping platforms themselves, and comparing the product to the alternatives. If we think it all checks out, it makes the cut.

Also keep in mind that all prices were accurate at the time of publishing. While we’re checking back and updating this post with the latest deals and prices, we can’t ignore the fact that deals move fast on Cyber Monday, and it’s possible that an offer may have expired between when you click and when we last hit update.

The Lenovo Legion 5i with RTX 4060 is 37% off for Cyber Week
The Lenovo Legion 5i laptop with the Legion logo on the screen.

Often the home of great gaming laptop deals, Lenovo has a particularly great one for anyone keen to game in style this holiday season. Today, you can buy the Lenovo Legion 5i with a 16-inch screen for just $1,121, meaning you’re saving 37% or $669 off the regular price. It's a hefty price cut, but it’s worth remembering that Lenovo’s estimated value system means that sometimes the original price is optimistically high. But the discounted price is still great either way. One of the better laptop deals around, the Lenovo Legion 5i looks great and packs plenty of punch for the price. Here’s why you’ll want it.

Why you should buy the Lenovo Legion 5i
Lenovo is one of the best gaming laptop brands around and my personal favorite of the bunch. Having owned an older Lenovo Legion laptop for a number of years, I’d happily recommend the range for anyone seeking a reliable gaming laptop. With the Lenovo Legion 5i, you get a great upgrade to my four-year-old Lenovo Legion. It has a 14th-generation Intel Core i7-14650HX CPU and it’s teamed up with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. The highlight here is its Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card with 8GB of dedicated VRAM. It’s the best graphics card in this price range dodging the downfall of the weaker 4050 GPU.

For one of the most affordable laptop deals around, look no further than the Dell Inspiron 15. Usually a respectable price of $380, it’s even less expensive right now, dropping to $270 for a limited time only. Perfect for simply typing up documents on the move, studying, or relaxing on the couch with a laptop, here’s all you need to know about it. Besides being good for adults, we also think it would make a great gift for a child seeking their first laptop.

Why you should buy the Dell Inspiron 15
At this price, you might worry you’re not buying quality, but Dell is one of the best laptop brands so you’re in good hands here. With the Dell Inspiron 15, you get a basic but highly functional laptop. It has a 12th-generation Intel Core i3-1215U processor along with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. None of that is particularly impressive, but it’s a strong mix with no obvious weak points in this price range. You simply wouldn’t expect more RAM at this price, for instance.

For one of the best remaining Cyber Week computer deals, head to Dell right now. Currently, you can buy the a Dell XPS Desktop with GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card for $600 off. Here’s what this desktop has to offer.

Why you should buy the Dell XPS Desktop
Well suited for gaming as well as working effectively from home, this Dell XPS Desktop is packed with great hardware. It has a 14th generation Intel Core i9-14900K CPU, which is the CPU that I personally considered kitting out my new gaming PC with. It also has 32GB of memory and 1TB of SSD storage. Best of all is its Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with 12GB of dedicated VRAM. That all makes for a PC that is perfect for gaming even if it doesn’t look like a gaming PC. This is easily one of the best desktop PCs around. The only consideration I’d make for gaming is wishing there was more storage space, but that’s easily added at a later date.
