Free Epic Games Store games this week

While most people still go to Steam for the best PC games, the Epic Games Store has become a strong competitor in the space and now hosts all the best current and upcoming PC games. Unlike Steam, however, Epic entices users to invest in its ecosystem by offering a free game or two every week ranging from darling indies to AAA titles. All you have to do is jump on the Epic Games Store to claim the free games and they’ll be added to your library to keep forever. Unlike PlayStation Plus or Game Pass, you don’t have to subscribe to anything to get them; just create a free account and you can claim every free game offered.

Keeping track of all the free titles and gaming deals can be a pain, so we’re monitoring the Epic Games Store for you. We’ll update this article every week when the new games are available!

What’s free on the Epic Games Store right now?

These games can be picked up on the Epic Games store right now for free. Scroll down to the Free Games section of the app’s Discover tab or find the individual title using the search bar. Just find and select the Get button to claim your free game. You do not have to download or install it right away.

Sticking with the idle game theme, Firestone: Online Idle RPG is a bit different because it is a multiplayer-focused game. You have a huge roster of fantasy characters to collect, send into battles, and manage gear and skills before taking on challenging bosses. You can play completely alone if you want, but guilds and PvP are other ways to test your team’s abilities.

Bugs might gross you out in real life, but the ones in Botanicula will win you over with their charming designs and personalities. This adventure game stars a gang of five bugs on a quest to save the single surviving seed of their home tree after parasites invaded. Each stage is striking and unique with cute puzzles and secrets to hunt. Few games that try to be funny succeed, but this one manages to pull it off.

We have an odd one this time, but one you shouldn’t write off. Chuchel is another comedy adventure game, this time starring Chuchel and his rival Kekel working together to find a very precious cherry. While there are puzzles, this game promises to provide more laughs than frustration. There are even some throwbacks to classic games thrown in.
