Every exclusive game available in the Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store has managed to become a real threat to Steam in just a matter of months. Launched in 2018, the store from the studio behind money-printer Fortnite has enticed developers both large and small with far friendlier revenue splits than Steam. Now, there are a lot of exclusive games on the Epic Games Store.

Although many titles have made their way over to Steam — including Metro Exodus and Borderlands 3 — Epic has a strong lineup of exclusive titles. In addition to AAA blockbusters from publishers like Ubisoft, Epic manages to grab the attention of a lot of indie outfits.

Although we don’t have as many games lined up for the Epic Games Store as in previous years, there’s a lot for fans to look forward to. Ubisoft is continuing to support the platform, which means we’ll likely see upcoming releases in the publisher’s popular franchises released on the platform. Additionally, Remedy Entertainment (developer of Control) announced that its next two games would be exclusive to the platform, and Playdead and GenDesign have exclusives coming, as well.

We’ll likely see a continued tread of PS5 games on Epic, too. Although Sony doesn’t publish games exclusively on Epic, many PS5 console exclusives have already shown up on Epic over Steam.

Plague Inc. creator surprise releases a more ‘optimistic’ game
A map in After Inc. Buildings are placed along green grass and a river. There are zombie targets along the road.

The developer of pandemic simulator game Plague Inc. is headed in a slightly new direction for his next game. After Inc., which was surprisingly released Friday for iOS and Android, is about rebuilding after an apocalypse instead of causing one.

After Inc. is described as part 4X strategy game and part city builder. You build settlements in the wake of a zombie apocalypse and have to rebuild humanity while also surviving zombie attacks. This involves gathering resources and working your way through different rounds to unlock more tools.

Former Valve dev reveals the origin behind the iconic Orange Box
Alyx and Dog standing side by side in Half-Life 2

One of the most iconic video game boxes of all time is The Orange Box, a bundle that included Half-Life 2, both of its episodes, and two little unreleased games you might have heard of: Portal and Team Fortress 2. It was a staple on video game store shelves for years thanks to the sheer quality of the games inside, and it was easily recognizable thanks to its unique coloring. As you can guess from the name, it was bright orange. But that almost wasn't the case.

In a TikTok (spotted by PC Gamer), former Valve writer Chet Faliszek recalled that The Orange Box was almost something way more boring: white. Of course, it had to be orange because the Half-Life series uses a lot of orange, but how did white get into the conversation?
