Fortnite Chapter 6 has finally arrived, and it brings players a fresh, new Japanese-themed island called Oninoshima, where players will become Ronin and battle demons roaming the island. The current Chapter 6 Season 1: Demon Hunters adds several new elements to Fortnite that have never been seen before and drastically changes the gameplay.

Whether it’s shifting the weapons meta from modded guns to deadly Katanas, players have much more to do this season, rather than simply cranking 90s or defeating bosses. The map has also undergone numerous changes as five new biomes have taken over the island, where you’ll also see giant bosses like Godzilla roaming the area.

However, this season, Epic has also drastically changed its Battle Pass system and adjusted its pricing, which is crucial to know before you jump into Chapter 6. Here’s all the info on the new Battle Pass system.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Battle Pass: Changes, format, and prices

Unified XP progression

Fortnite made a huge announcement in October 2024 that the game will now have a unified progression system along all the passes in the game, including Battle Royale Battle Pass, Lego Pass, and Music Pass (earlier known as Festival Pass). According to them, by December 1, all passes in Fortnite will progress simultaneously by earning XP from playing any experience.

Removal of free and premium tracks and Battle Stars

Similar to how the Battle Pass works, Music and Lego Passes released after December 1 will change to one track with both free and premium rewards.

As you progress through pass tiers with XP, you’ll be able to claim rewards on the unlocked pages of each active pass you have. Rewards may be claimed in non-sequential order on all passes, in the same way that you can with the Battle Pass now. You’ll also be able to set each pass to auto-claim the next reward when it becomes available to you.

Furthermore, Battle Stars and Studs in Lego mode will retire starting December 1, which means players will unlock rewards as they progress, just like they did in earlier seasons.

Fortnite Crew gives access to all passes for free

Fortnite also revealed that, with the significant changes to the Battle Pass and progression system, the Fortnite Crew subscription is expanding and giving more than ever before.

A Fortnite Crew subscription presently costs $11.99 a month and includes the Battle Royale Battle Pass, 1,000 V-bucks, monthly Crew Pack clothes, and other bonuses such as Crew Pack outfit styles and Rocket League’s Rocket Pass Premium.

Beginning December 1, Fortnite Crew will include the Music Pass and Lego Pass at no additional cost. As an active Fortnite Crew subscriber, you’ll be able to collect premium benefits from all Fortnite passes beginning December 1, and playing any experience will progress all of them at the same time, providing a plethora of goodies as you earn XP.

Furthermore, any new passes released in the game will be added to your Fortnite Crew membership, including the OG Pass that comes with the new game mode.

A Fortnite Crew membership now works as follows: When a new Battle Royale Battle Pass becomes available, you may unlock and collect premium benefits from the pass for as long as it is active, even if you unsubscribe from Crew.

Premium Battle Pass awards will only be accessible to new subscribers beginning December 1 at 5 a.m. GMT/UTC if their Fortnite Crew subscriptions are active. This means that if you cancel Crew, you will only be able to receive premium benefits from the Battle Pass until the end of your current paying cycle, not the whole term of the pass.

New Battle Pass pricing

On December 1, players will see a shift in the pricing of the Battle Royale Battle Pass, with an increase of 50 V-Bucks, raising the cost from 950 to 1,000 V-Bucks. The cost of V-Bucks in real money will stay unchanged, and players can continue to earn V-Bucks by progressing through the Battle Pass levels.

The 25 Battle Pass Reward Bundle is now priced at 1,800 V-Bucks, a slight reduction from the previous 1,850. Additionally, players can grab the Battle Bundle, which includes both the Battle Pass and 25 Battle Pass rewards, for 2,800 V-Bucks.

While these are some of the major changes arriving with Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, check on the official countdown, leaks, and what the pass looks like right here.

Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 is officially out, and it brings a new Japanese-themed island, full of different biomes and a whopping 18 unique POIs, each proving to be a promising landing spot for players to choose from. The season also revamps the entire loot pool and adds new weapons such as Katanas, Hitscan guns, Oni Masks, and so on.

But something that was most well-received by players was this season's Battle Pass, which was full of original characters who are cosmetic outfits. However, despite that the new Fortnite season has also introduced a massive collab with the King of Monsters, Godzilla, where players can easily claim the skin and will soon witness the beast himself on the island.
