A ruthless Elden Ring patch makes Radahn even stronger

Anyone who beat Radahn in Elden Ring over the last couple of weeks might have just gotten lucky. As it turns out, following a patch that made the Starscourge weaker, developer FromSoftware overlooked a bug that left some of his attacks dealing too little damage. Thanks to another small patch for the game that was released today though, Radahn is beefed up once again and ready to make players put their controllers down.

For those who don’t know him, Radahn is one of Elden Ring‘s major bosses, and he’s one of its most unique. A massive warrior wielding two enormous swords that rides around on a very tiny horse, Radahn is a force to be reckoned with regardless of how many times someone’s faced him. The boss is so powerful, in fact, that the game lets players continuously summon NPCs to help them over the course of the fight. Those NPCs will likely be killed multiple times over the course of the fight against Radahn.

Players ended up complaining about Radahn’s strength, leading FromSoftware to nerf the massive boss. However, according to the game’s latest patch notes, a “bug in the balance adjustment” for his attacks made some of them much weaker than intended. Following today’s update, Radahn’s attacks are, unfortunately for players who haven’t beaten him yet, back to their intended strength.

Today’s patch for Elden Ring only changes Radahn’s balancing, making it one of the smallest we’ve seen for the hit title so far. Other patches have added markers for where NPCs are located or added entirely new NPCs.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree appears to have a secret, tougher difficulty

Elden Ring is already an immensely difficult game -- as was expected from a FromSoftware title -- but players found that Shadow of the Erdtree was even a bit too difficult. But Redditors have discovered that there might even be a secret difficulty setting that makes the DLC even tougher.

A thread by user Spleenczar posted Wednesday noticed a feature called DLC+ at the bottom of the Fextralife new game plus page, which claims that if you've already played through the DLC on New Game+ and want to do another playthrough, the game gets more difficult, with enemies dealing more damage and having more health. To test this, Spleenczar made a save copy of an almost-completed DLC run, defeated the final boss in the copied save, and then compared how each character fared in an encounter with Messmer the Impaler.

You could soon own a signed Elden Ring poster thanks to a charity auction this week, but you'll need a few thousand dollars to have a chance.

YouTuber and voice actor Connor "CDawgVA" Colquhoun posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he had an Elden Ring poster of Malenia, Blade of Miquella signed by FromSoftware head Hidetaka Miyazaki (thanks IGN) that he was putting up for auction. However, right now, the top bid for the poster is $15,000. The bids started at $1 on July 12 and have skyrocketed.

New Elden Ring patch will make those early DLC hours a lot easier

A lot of people have been having trouble with Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, due to both general FromSoftware game difficulty and changes made to the leveling system once you get to the DLC area. A tiny patch issued Wednesday aims to help with that.

Calibration Update 1.12.2 tweaks two things regarding the Scadutree Blessing, a DLC-exclusive blessing that allows you to deal and take more damage as you upgrade it. The patch increases attack and damage negation for the first half of the upgrade tree, with the second half being "more gradual." It also increased the blessing's final level, so players who max it out will benefit more.
