It’s not even close: Sennheiser soundbars, headphones, and earbuds win the Prime Day discount award

Every Amazon Prime Day, I go in search of best discounts on audio and video products. I have a very strict rule when I go hunting: I’m looking for the best deals on products I have personally reviewed or that my fellow Digital Trends’ colleagues have reviewed. And those products need to have scored at least an 8 out of 10 on our rating scale and earned one of our awards (Recommended Product/Editor’s Choice).

This year, for Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, I struck gold. I didn’t find just one worthy deal, I found three (well, four but I’ll get to that in a moment) and they’re all from Sennheiser. If you follow tech sites like Digital Trends, you know that Sennheiser has a sterling reputation for audio products that sound fantastic. Right now, the company’s best soundbar, wireless headphones, and wireless earbuds are at some of their lowest historical prices, with discounts of up to 53%, making them the best audio deals I’ve been able to find.

Here’s the full scoop.

Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Max, reg. $2,500, now $1,672 (33% off)

Sennheiser Ambeo soundbar review
Riley Young / Digital Trends

There are plenty of single-speaker soundbars that promise to replace an entire home theater. However, we’ve never reviewed one that fulfills that promise as effectively as the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Max. Its powerful, 50o-watt, 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound system is mesmerizingly immersive, and it also boasts an impressive array of HDMI connections, something that most soundbars lack.

There are only two reasons we’ve ever hesitated to recommend the Ambeo Soundbar Max: It’s quite tall for a soundbar (5.3 inches), which means it may block the bottom portion of your TV’s screen, and it’s (normally) very pricey at $2,500.

The Ambeo Soundbar Max’s dimensions haven’t shrunk, but that price has, which means that if you’ve got room for this truly impressive AV receiver replacement, now is absolutely the time to buy it.

Don’t just take my word for it — read our in-depth Ambeo Soundbar Max review. It was originally published in 2019, but our opinion hasn’t changed — it’s still the best single-speaker soundbar you can buy.

If your budget (or your space) doesn’t have room for the Max, Sennheiser’s smaller Ambeo Soundbar Plus is also superb, and also very deeply discounted at $1,000 (reg. $1,500).

Sennheiser Headphones, reg. $380, now $220 (42% off)

Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 4

Here’s another Sennheiser product that has been a stalwart presence on our list of the best wireless headphones since it debuted in 2022. These over-ear cans combine Sennheiser’s highly respected sound signature with very effective noise cancellation, and one of the longest battery lives in the headphone category.

The Momentum 4 Wireless are comfortable enough for long listening sessions, they support aptX and aptX Adaptive codecs, plus they can connect to two devices simultaneously. With a super-low frequency response of just 6Hz, there’s tons of deep bass for those who love the lows.

When the Momentum 4 Wireless are regularly priced, it can be tough to decide between buying them or buying one of their excellent competitors like the Sony WH-1000XM4, Sony WH-1000XM5, or the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones. But when they’re discounted by over 40%, it’s no contest — they’re absolutely the way to go if you want the best performance at the lowest price.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 True Wireless earbuds, reg. $300, now $209 (30% off)

Much like their over-ear wireless headphone siblings, the Sennheiser Momentum 4 True Wireless earbuds are one of our favorite sets of wireless earbuds for getting great sound, comfort, and noise cancellation.

I often tell my friends who are considering buying Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 to check out the Momentum 4 True Wireless as an alternative, especially if they value sound quality above other features like spatial audio. The Momentum 4 True Wireless may not have as many bells and whistles as Apple’s earbuds, but to my ears, they deliver more detailed and powerful sound quality. With this discount, they’re now far less expensive than the AirPods.

ANC saw a big improvement over the third-gen Momentum earbuds, and Sennheiser added all of Qualcomm’s high-quality codecs including aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless, for those with compatible phones.

Better yet, they support Bluetooth multipoint and Sennheiser recently updated the Momentum 4’s software to make them compatible with Auracast, a huge benefit for folks who want to be future-proofed for this emerging technology.
