Samsung’s Jetbot robot vacuum mops floors, converts to a wall and window cleaner

Samsung already has an existing line of robot vacuums capable of cleaning dirt and debris, but what about spills or perhaps something that’ll give your hard surfaces at home a bit of shine and cleanliness? Samsung’s Jetbot Mop is a smart mop capable of cleaning tile, vinyl, laminate, and hardwood floors — plus it doubles as a handheld cleaner for walls and windows! The dual spinning pads clean and buff the floor, and the up-to-100-minute cleaning time means your floor will sparkle when the Jetbot finishes. The tanks automatically dispense fluid and only require a refill after 50 minutes of runtime.

The Jetbot Mop has smart sensors that allow it to navigate throughout your home and avoid obstacles like furniture and carpet. It’s also designed to clean along edges to give a more complete, thorough clean. The truly surprising part of the Jetbot Mop is its versatility. In addition to cleaning floors, the Jetbot Mop can be switched to a handheld mode for cleaning your walls and windows. It’s perfect for cleaning the tile in the bathroom or for wiping grime off windows.

With the holiday season on the way, more people are thinking about ways to keep their home clean. While robot vacuums make day-to-day cleaning simple, what about those times when you have a localized mess — like a flour spill when baking? Samsung offers an alternative with the Jet Stick Vacuum.

The Jet Stick Vacuums are cordless vacuums designed to be used in any space, on any floor. They are lightweight and have up to 200 watts of suction power and a five-layer HEPA filtration system that traps up to 99.99% of dust particles and allergens. With fall allergies on the way, the Jet Stick Vacuums could help reduce the amount of sneezing and itchy eyes in your household.

The Jet Stick Vacuums can run up to 60 minutes on a single charge, and the battery is easy to remove so it can be swapped for a spare. The vacuum takes 3.5 hours to charge and comes in at just six pounds, with a 180-degree swivel head that makes it easy to clean under furniture.

The Jetbot Mop is available for $250, while the Jet 90 Cordless Stick Vacuum is $600. The devices are part of a new initiative from Samsung to make cleaning the home easier while reducing the amount of effort needed for necessary tasks like cooking and laundry.

Narwal Freo Z Ultra vs. Dreame L40 Ultra: Which is the better robot vacuum?
The Narwal Freo Z Ultra next to furniture.

Several new robot vacuums were revealed at IFA 2024, including the Narwal Freo Z Ultra and Dreame L40 Ultra. The two gadgets share a lot of similarities (including a $1,500 price tag), and there’s a good chance you’ve stumbled upon both if you’re in the market for a robotic floor cleaner.

Thankfully, you can’t go wrong with either. Our Dreame L40 Ultra review found it to be a stellar robot vacuum -- and the same goes for our Narwal Freo Z Ultra review, which called it a marked improvement over the existing Narwal Freo X Ultra.

This retro robot vacuum is one of my favorite gadgets at IFA 2024
The Karcher RC 3000 robot vacuum at IFA 2024.

IFA 2024 has officially opened its doors to the public, marking the 100th anniversary of the iconic event. Hundreds of consumer electronics brands will be at the show -- including Samsung, Acer, and Lenovo -- and it's shaping up to be another big year for the convention. I was invited to preview the sprawling IFA grounds ahead of its kickoff, and while much was still under construction, IFA 100 Years: The Exhibition was largely complete. That's where I stumbled upon the Karcher RC 3000 -- a robot vacuum from 2003 that served as a precursor to many of today's most prominent devices.

IFA 100 Years: The Exhibition looks back at key innovations in the consumer electronics industry. From gaming and radio to video and home appliances, it captures key moments that shaped our digital lives over the past 10 decades. And while you'll find plenty of innovative devices in The Exhibition, the Karcher RC 3000 is undoubtedly one of the coolest smart home products in the showcase.

The iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max might be the best robot vacuum for carpet
The Roomba Combo 10 Max lifting its mop.

iRobot is gearing up to launch a new robot vacuum, with the Roomba Combo 10 Max arriving in August. The robot makes big upgrades to its docking station, as it can automatically refill, wash, and dry the mopping pad -- making this the first multifunctional dock from iRobot. Best of all, it keeps its predecessors' swinging mop arm design, making it ideal for homes with both carpet and hard floors.

While much of the competition has offered self-cleaning docks for years (including Ecovacs and Roborock), this is a first for Roomba. After a cleaning cycle, the robot vacuum will return to its dock to refill its water tank and recharge its battery. It'll also get its mopping pad washed with water and dried with circulated air, preventing the buildup of mold and odors. You'll even have the option to run a manual self-clean and receive notifications if a deeper clean (or maintenance) is required.
