Does the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 come with a screen protector?

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 was recently announced, and it’s surely far from affordable for most of us. While the outer glass body is toughened with Gorilla Glass, the inner screen is not as durable. While Samsung has reduced the use of any protective plastic covering, including the previously included screen protector on other phones, the Flip and the Fold are too expensive to be handled without it.

So, does Samsung make an exception for the new Galaxy Z Flip 6 and include a free screen protector? Let’s find out!

The short answer is yes; the longer one is a bit more convoluted. The Galaxy Z Flip 6’s inner flexible display comes pre-applied with a flexible film screen protector. It is meant to prevent any scratches on the display.

Unlike the outer cover display, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s inner display is extremely tender and made of special material that Samsung calls “Ultra Thin Glass” or UTG. Despite its naming, the material resembles plastic in its properties — primarily because it must be bendable. The screen surface is also susceptible to deep gouges, which can occur from fingernails or any solid particle getting stuck between the folds.

The screen protector can bear some of the strain in case of a nail mark or a particle rubbing between the folded surfaces, thus preventing any long-lasting damage to the screen. This is why it is also a good reason not to pry it out or try to replace it yourself.

In cases where the screen protector starts peeling or starts forming bubbles under it, you must visit a trustworthy technician or repair shop. For as long as your Galaxy Z Flip 6 is under warranty, it’s best to get the screen protector replaced from a Samsung store.

Can you use third-party screen protectors on the Galaxy Z Flip 6?

For older devices, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung offers one free screen replacement under warranty. Thereafter, you must pay $20 for every new screen protector. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 gets this same treatment.

You can also apply third-party screen protectors, especially those meant to improve privacy by blocking sideways viewing. However, it’s best not to remove the existing screen protector provided by Samsung so a third-party one doesn’t potentially mess up the actual display.

So long as your phone is under warranty, we suggest you visit Samsung for an official remedy. This will also ensure that applying a third-party screen protector on the Flip 6’s inner display does not void your warranty.

Samsung Galaxy AI on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Samsung’s 2025 lineup of foldable phones is expected to be released next summer, but news about them continues to emerge. The latest update is quite significant. According to display supply chain industry consultant Ross Young (via GSMArena), the new foldable devices will feature larger screens.

The source indicates that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature the same panels found on the recently released Galaxy Fold Special Edition. This includes an 8-inch foldable main screen and a 6.5-inch cover display. The current Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 7.6-inch primary and 6.3-inch cover display. Young also anticipates that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a 6.85-inch foldable display and a 4-inch cover display. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a 6.7-inch main display and a 3.4-inch cover display.

We’re at the time of year when rumors start to surface about next year’s Samsung devices. The latest one concerns the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy Z Flip 7. If true, it’s a significant development.

According to leaker @Jukanlosreve on X, the Galaxy Z Flip FE (Samsung's upcoming budget foldable) is likely to use a Samsung Exynos 2400e chip, the same chip found in the recently introduced Galaxy S24 FE.

The Nubia Z70 Ultra just gave the Galaxy S25 Ultra some tough competition
A render of the Nubia Z70 Ultra.

With all eyes on Samsung and the upcoming Galaxy S25 release, it's easy to forget about other players on the field. And the Nubia Z70 Ultra could be the underdog competitor no one considered. This powerful phone was just announced in China and will see a global launch on November 26 for roughly $635.

This phone has a lot going for it, but the absolute first thing that catches the eye is the breathtakingly gorgeous design. I'm a fan of Post-Impressionist art, and I have to say that the Starry Night pattern looks better than any case could dream of, but this handset is no slouch in the specs department either. It comes with the same display as the RedMagic 10 Pro and has a screen-to-body ratio of more than 95%. The Nubia Z70 Ultra uses a 16MP underdisplay camera rather than a pinhole camera, giving the screen a more complete look.
