There’s a hidden coupon that makes this Cyber Monday smartwatch deal even sweeter

This story is part of Digital Trends' Cyber Monday coverage 2024

I often hear complaints about battery life being too short on a smartwatch, but there is a solution to the issue, and the model in question happens to be my pick of the wearable deals out there this Cyber Monday. The smartwatch is the Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5, and I’ve easily stretched the battery life out to four days on a single charge with all the health tech active. Use the smartwatch’s extended battery mode, and it will continue working for weeks.

Now that I’ve got your attention regarding the battery life, I have some great news on your choice of model and the price, should you decide to buy one. Mobvoi has discounted all its current smartwatches for Cyber Monday on Amazon, and because they’re variations on the same theme, you have a choice of styles without sacrificing features or the brilliant battery life. This is because they all share the same dual-screen technology, with the primary OLED showing Google’s Wear OS and the secondary LCD taking care of the ambient display. It’s a clever system that maximizes battery life.

The Ticwatch Pro 5 is the original model and the least expensive version available. Previously $350, it’s $210 right now for Cyber Monday, but there’s an easily missed coupon option that discounts the smartwatch by a further $35 — meaning it’ll cost you $185 when you check out. Make sure to tick the coupon box; otherwise, you’ll miss out on this superb price. You can choose between the black or the Sandstone color, or if you have a little more change in your pocket and want a subtly different design, you can take a look at the Enduro model instead.

Mobvoi released the Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro model a few months after the Pro 5, with the big upgrade being sapphire crystal over the screen, along with a few design changes. It is available for $245 or $210 after you apply the $35 off coupon, down from $350. Most recently, Mobvoi launched the Ticwatch Atlas, another redesign of the original Ticwatch Pro 5, but this time with Wear OS 4 already installed and a selection of some new health-related software features to go with it. The Ticwatch Atlas in black or silver is yours for $280 or $245, provided you use the special coupon, down from the usual $350 price.

All this means that you can have a smartwatch with sensible battery life, the fastest current Qualcomm processor for wearables, a very clever dual-screen system that works really well, and a choice of three different styles and colors to suit your taste. Even if you spend $245 on the Ticwatch Atlas, it’s a great deal, but it is a real steal if you choose the original Ticwatch Pro 5 for $185. I’ve worn and used all three, and my pick would be the Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro for its sleeker case and design, but in the lovely Slate color with its polished bezel.

Cost-cutting strips Pixel 9a of the best Gemini AI features in Pixel 9
Person holds Pixel 9a in hand while sitting in a car.

The Pixel 9a has been officially revealed, and while it's an eye candy, there are some visible cutbacks over the more premium Pixel 9 and 9 Pro series phones. The other cutbacks we don't see include lower RAM than the Pixel 9 phones, which can limit the new mid-ranger's ability to run AI applications, despite running the same Tensor G4 chipset.

Google's decision to limit the RAM to 8GB, compared to the 12GB on the more premium Pixel 9 phones, sacrifices its ability to run certain AI tasks locally. ArsTechnica has reported that as a result of the cost-cutting, Pixel 9a runs an "extra extra small" or XXS variant -- instead of the "extra small" variant on Pixel 9 -- of the Gemini Nano 1.0 model that drives on-device AI functions.
