Sprint reveals exclusive HTC One M8 Harman Kardon Edition

Sprint just announced a new version of the HTC One M8 featuring Harman Kardon speakers. It will be an exclusive on Sprint and is set to go on sale May 9.

The gorgeous HTC One M8 has been turning a few heads recently, and the Harman Kardon version is being billed as the perfect Android smartphone for music lovers. In addition to the promise of excellent sound quality, with a range of special sound settings you won’t find on the standard M8, there will be an FM radio feature, special “Sprint Sound Sessions” content, and anyone on a Sprint Framily plan gets 6 months of free Spotify thrown in. It will also be able to play lossless FLAC files flawlessly and deliver high quality audio that’s six times better than a CD.

The HTC One M8 Harman Kardon Edition will have a unique look, in the shape of a black finish with champagne highlights.

HTC has long been a leader in terms of smartphone sound, with the HTC One’s front-facing dual speakers and the previous partnership with Beats Audio. Harman employs technology it calls Clari-fi, which is capable of analyzing audio quality and rebuilding some of what is lost during compression, which sounds ideal for smartphone listeners since the vast majority of streaming music services and audio files use compression.

This could be a real coup for Sprint. We’ll let you know how good it sounds just as soon as we can get a hands-on and listen.

The Pixel 9a has been officially revealed, and while it's an eye candy, there are some visible cutbacks over the more premium Pixel 9 and 9 Pro series phones.
