Remember the early days of cell phones when brands like Motorola reigned supreme? Believe it or not, Motorola never actually went away; its modern lineup of phones just tends to be dwarfed by bigger brands like Apple, Samsung, and Google. Motorola devices still pack quite the punch, though, and one of our favorite phones of 2024 is also one of the best phone deals this week:

For a limited time, when you purchase the unlocked version of the Motorola razr+ on Amazon, you’ll only pay $800. At full price, this phone sells for $1,000. We tested this smartphone close to a year ago, and our reviewers had this to say: “The Motorola Razr Plus is the best flip phone foldable I’ve ever used. Between the unmatched cover screen, stunning hardware, and powerful specs, there’s just so much to like.”

Why you should buy the Motorola razr+

Similar to hardware from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip lineup, the Moto razr+ has two gorgeous screens to work with. The cover is a 3.6-inch pOLED display that brings HDR10+ and 144Hz refresh rate support to the table, while the main screen is 6.8 inches and boasts a 2640 x 1080 pixel spread, 1,400 nits of peak brightness and an amazing 165Hz refresh rate. Way to go, Moto!

Running Android 14 with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 CPU, you’ll experience some of the fastest and most intuitive performance, bar none. The Moto razr+ also has all-day battery life, an excellent camera system, and an IP52 rating. And while this deal applies to the Midnight Blue colorway, the Moto razr+ is available in several more colors, too.

It’s hard to say how long this markdown is going to last, so now might be the best time to buy. Save $200 when you order the unlocked Motorola razr+ on Amazon. Someone opening the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.

By 2025, folding smartphones have evolved into practical devices after their exciting yet buggy launch. While prices are decreasing thanks to advancements in technology, they remain high-end purchases that require careful consideration.

There are two main types on the market: one unfolds from a standard phone to a tablet-sized device, while the other follows a classic clamshell design, like the old-style Motorola Razr, allowing it to fold in half for portability. Both types utilize similar technology but serve different needs.

If you've got the cash to spend and you're looking for phone deals on premium models, this is the one that should be in your sights.

Why you should buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, which we gave a rating of 4 stars out of 5 stars in our review, is featured in our list of the best phones as the best foldable phone. We described it as "the best, most manageable big-screen folding phone you can currently buy," as its weight and dimensions have been refined for one of the best things about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 -- it's pocket-friendly.
