Olloclip’s addition for Otterbox’s modular case easily switches between 4 lenses

Before phones get modular, Otterbox wants to make our existing devices a little more functional with the Universe Case System. This iPhone case lets you snap in various modules to add extra features, one of which is Olloclip’s popular 4-in-1 lens, and we got a peek of it at CE Week 2016.

Olloclip‘s 4-in-1 lens features four varying lens types: Fisheye, wide-angle, a 10x macro, and a 15x macro. Snap it into the Otterbox Universe Case and you’ve easily expanded the style in how you can take photographs with the iPhone — but note that the case only fits an iPhone 6, 6S, 6 Plus, and the 6S Plus.

The clip also acts as a wearable pendant, if you wanted to carry it around rather than leaving it on your phone. Unfortunately, it’s a bit pricey at $80 — and that’s not even factoring the price of the Otterbox Universe Case, which is $50 for the regular-sized iPhones and $60 for the Plus variants.

Thankfully, if you don’t have or want Otterbox’s Universe case, Olloclip still offers the same product for the iPhone devices at $80.

We also got a look at Olloclip Studio, which the company created to act as a photographer’s on-the-go kit. Attaching to the same iPhone 6, 6S, and Plus variants, the case allows you to attach various photo accessories to it. For example, you can mount a finger grip to help keep shots steady, a tripod, a kickstand, and more. The mounting solution is patent pending.

Olloclip Studio will set you back $90 for the whole setup.

Cost-cutting strips Pixel 9a of the best Gemini AI features in Pixel 9

The Pixel 9a has been officially revealed, and while it's an eye candy, there are some visible cutbacks over the more premium Pixel 9 and 9 Pro series phones. The other cutbacks we don't see include lower RAM than the Pixel 9 phones, which can limit the new mid-ranger's ability to run AI applications, despite running the same Tensor G4 chipset.

Google's decision to limit the RAM to 8GB, compared to the 12GB on the more premium Pixel 9 phones, sacrifices its ability to run certain AI tasks locally. ArsTechnica has reported that as a result of the cost-cutting, Pixel 9a runs an "extra extra small" or XXS variant -- instead of the "extra small" variant on Pixel 9 -- of the Gemini Nano 1.0 model that drives on-device AI functions.
