Disney+ is letting you grab three years of service for less than $5 per month

If you’re planning on subscribing to Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+ — and if you’re a fan of Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, or any of the other properties that Disney owns, you really should consider it — there’s another sweet deal on the table for those of you who missed out on the pre-Labor Day special.

For a limited time, a three-year subscription is only $170, according to the Orlando Sentinel. It’s a special offer that will run for an unknown length of time. You can sign up at founders.disneyplus.com and use the code “PARKSPASS3YEARS.”

This deal drops Disney+’s yearly subscription price from $70 to $56 a year — or just under $5 per month — saving you about 20% on annual subscription fees. It’s not as good a deal as the previous one that Disney offered, but if you’re thinking of signing up, it’s still a significant savings.

Digital Trends hasn’t been unable to verify this deal. At the time of publication, going to the website listed above provided us only with a black page and a small animated set of white concentric circles. It’s possible the site has been overwhelmed with demand, so be sure to check back later if you experience the same thing.

Disney will most likely have any issues sorted out soon — and it must be pretty pleased by how eager people are to watch shows and movies like The Mandalorian, Captain Marvel, and every single episode of The Simpsons. Yes, that’s right: All of them.

One deal that is very much available still is Disney’s bundle: Disney+ along with EPSN+ and Hulu for $13 per month.

Disney+ debuts on November 12, 2019, and will be the exclusive online home for the entire Disney catalog, including hard-to-find animated movies, all of the studio’s newest feature films, and original live-action TV series based on Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, some of which won’t arrive until your three-year commitment is almost up. If you have to watch one Disney+ movie this May, stream this one

Disney+ subscribers have almost certainly noticed by now that this month's selection of new movies is abysmal if you don't also have a Hulu subscription. While Disney CEO Bob Iger recently crowed to investors that Disney+ is now profitable, he neglected to mention that the streamer only achieved that status because the programming has been severely cut. Unless you really love documentaries about The Beatles, Queen, The Beach Boys, or Jim Henson, there are literally no other new movies on Disney+ in May beyond the offerings from Hulu.

Because of the Hulu integration, it's now even harder to find a movie on Disney+ (outside of the major Disney brands) that you can actually watch with the original subscription that you paid for. That's something Disney+ subscribers should be very upset about. But even with these misguided content decisions, if you have to watch one Disney+ movie this May, then the film to stream is a 2006 romantic comedy/fantasy called Aquamarine, which is based on the book by Alice Hoffman. It's not actually a Disney film, but fans of The Little Mermaid may recognize certain aspects of the plot. If you're looking for reasons to watch Aquamarine, we've got a few to share.

It would be understandable if Disney+ subscribers feel a little jealous of Hulu in April. That's because the new additions to Hulu include The Big Lebowski, The Fifth Element, Hellboy, Ocean's 11, Jumanji: The Next Level, and even Wonder Woman. The only major Disney+ movie to debut in April was Wish. For families with kids or animation lovers, Wish might be enough. But when picking the one movie to watch on Disney+ in April, we decided to dive a little deeper into the streaming catalog. That's how we settled on our choice for the one Disney+ movie that you have to watch this month: Aliens of the Deep.

Between the premiere of Titanic in 1997 and Avatar in 2009, director James Cameron threw himself into the realm of underwater exploration and directed or co-directed two documentary films. Cameron's first documentary, Ghosts of the Abyss, is not on Disney+. But Aliens of the Deep has a permanent home here. This movie was originally an IMAX release and it was filmed in IMAX 3D. The streaming experience may not be able to replicate that, but Aliens of the Deep is still visually dazzling even in 2D. You can now watch Hulu inside the Disney+ app

After a limited beta launch in late 2023, Hulu content is now officially available via the Disney+ app for those who subscribe to both services via the Disney Bundle, according to Disney. To mark the occasion, the Disney+ app icon has been given a new Hulu-esque greenish hue that the company calls "Aurora," which replaces the previous blue background.

With the launch, bundle subscribers now have access to Hulu content throughout the Disney+ app, including discovery areas like Continue Watching and recommendations.
