Update 10/8/24: So far, we’ve been let down a little bit in the variety of streaming deals available. However, it does show just how great it is to sign up for Prime during Prime Day (or ‘Prime Big Deal Days’) events, as you get a month of free streaming out of it, too!

If you’ve been shopping through the Prime Big Deal Days event, then you already know that many of the best deals are on electronics. Whether you picked up a hot Prime Big Deal Days TV deal or one of the great laptop or tablet deals available in Best Buy’s alternative Big Deal Days event, you’ll need some content to watch on it. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with just watching Twitch or YouTube all of the time, but the best series and movies are all going to be on streaming services. We’ve found the following deals to be the very best on some of the best streaming services around.

The best Prime Big Deal Days streaming service deals

Here’s what to go after today:

  • — Sure, it’s cheeky, but this is free with your Prime free trial that you’re probably already getting to cash in on the other Prime-exclusive deals you’re taking advantage of today.
  • — Free month of Premium Pass with a base subscription
  • — $3 per month for 6 months, compare to $20 for a 6 month package (10% savings)
  • — $65/mo. $73/mo. 11% off

How to choose a streaming service on Prime Day

There are a lot of different streaming services out there, and to an extent, you can’t go wrong with whichever one you decide to sign up for. As we’re talking about sales season here, a good starting point is to think about how much you want to spend. It might seem obvious, but it’s important to take a good look at the deals and evaulate exactly what they offer you. Are there deals that are just for a few months at a time but at an awesome price? Perhaps your best plan here is to sign up to try something while it’s super cheap and remember to cancel it before the price goes back up. Ultimately, there’s no one streaming service to rule them all anymore, so whatever you go for, you’ll find something on the service to watch.

However, we do have guides on the best streaming services. Netflix is the household name for streaming services, and the best shows on Netflix continue to be pretty special. However, you may also wish to consider Disney Plus if you want something more family-friendly. The best shows on Disney Plus are focused on things like Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and Disney, so the whole family will be delighted. Other options include streaming services like Hulu with the best movies on Hulu and (if you signed up for Amazon Prime just for the sale) also be sure to check out the best shows on Amazon Prime Video.

How we chose these streaming service Prime Day deals

We track down all the best streaming service Prime Day deals the same way that we do with any other deals — via a lot of research. We only feature the best streaming services. That means we look at the streaming services that we would use ourselves. We skip featuring anything that we deem inferior — who wants to waste their cash on something that they’ll hardly use?

A good deal is only a good deal if it fulfills two criteria: it’s good quality, and it’s cheaper than the rest. So that’s exactly what we’re focusing on here. All the streaming deals above are good services that are worth using, and they are priced well, so you’re gaining a lot for your money.

Where possible, we feature the streaming deals that offer the most content, either through bundle deals or by simply having the latest shows and movies. The best value comes from the services that you use all the time rather than only occasionally check out.

The 50 best shows on Netflix in April 2025
The cast of Black Mirror Season 7's USS McAlister: Into Infinity.

There's a familiar series among the most popular shows on Netflix, and it's likely to be sticking around near the top of the list. Black Mirror season 7 premiered this week, and it was back within the top five shows on Netflix in its first 24 hours. And we won't be shocked at all if it hits No. 1 before the end of the weekend.
But if you want something a little different from that series, Netflix has also debuted a new Spanish thriller called The Gardener, which is a bit of a misnomer of a title. But since The Killer was already taken by a previous Netflix original film, The Gardener will just have to do.
You can find these series and more among the best shows on Netflix. We update this list every Friday to give you the best streaming options for your weekend viewing.
We’ve also rounded up all the best new shows to stream this week, the best movies on Netflix, the best shows on Hulu, the best shows on Amazon Prime, and the best shows on Disney+ because we take our streaming seriously. New this week
Black Mirror

After a two-year hiatus, Black Mirror is back for a new season on Netflix. Charlie Brooker's mind-bending sci-fi anthology consists of five self-contained standalone episodes and one sequel to the fan-favorite season 4 episode USS Callister. As with its previous seasons, Black Mirror has attracted a number of established stars to make one-off appearances.

Samantha Morton in 2073.

After a slow start to April, it's... still a little slow on our list of the best movies to stream on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Max (HBO), and other services. After a March that saw a slew of Oscar winners arrive on streaming platforms (including Anora, A Complete Unknown, and Wicked), April's biggest highlight to date is the SZA and Keke Palmer comedy, One of Them Days.

Nonetheless, we soldier on with four new additions to the list this week across three services. Headlined by a dystopian documentary on Max, check out this week's best new movies to stream.
We also have guides to the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.

Lucy Hale in The Hating Game.

DreamWorks Animation's The Croods is currently perched on top of the most popular movies on Netflix. It's an OK movie, but we think you'll have more fun with No. 5 on the list, The Hating Game, a rom-com that recently arrived on Netflix. And if you're fans of the Netflix original series, Wednesday, you should definitely check out the 1991 Addams Family movie, which is back on the streamer after an extended absence.
Last week's picks, One of Them Days and The Dark Knight, are both hanging around in the top 10. You can find these films and the rest of the best movies on Netflix below. Remember to check this list every Friday morning when we update the lineup to give you the most enticing movie options available.
