The first teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man hits the Internet

Although fanboys may never have the agony and the ecstasy of a true Spider-Man versus Batman showdown (not counting fan-fiction and the possible DC/Marvel crossover that would inevitably leave both groups irate), but a bit of a proxy battle has been launched this week in the form of movie trailers. The next entries into both the Batman and the Spider-Man franchises won’t hit theaters until next July, but the war for the hearts and minds of fans have begun as both films have released trailers in time for Comic-Con.

Earlier this week we got our first glimpse of Christopher’s Nolan’s trilogy ending, The Dark Knight Rises. The trailer debuted in front of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 2, which opened last Friday. Soon after, Warner Bros. released the trailer into the wild of the intertubes.

Not to be outdone, Columbia Pictures has released the first look at next summer’s Spidey reboot from director Marc Webb titled, The Amazing Spider-Man. The teaser trailer will be attached to Captain America: The First Avenger, which opens on Friday. But never one to pass up a good party, the first trailer for The Avengers has also leaked online as well. Most, if not all, posts with that trailer have been removed by request of the studio, but you can see the trailer for yourself following the credits of Captain America.

The battle for the bragging honors of top superhero film of 2012 will begin next summer when The Avengers is released on May 4, The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters on July 3, and The Dark Knight Rises is released on July 20. For now, check out the new Spidey trailer starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans.

12 movies that should’ve been longer
suicide squad review 001

While many people these days complain about movies being too long, there are still plenty of movies that should've been longer, even the ones now considered masterpieces. If certain films had more time to develop their characters and plotlines, they certainly would've been looked upon much more fondly by audiences.

From superhero epics to horror pictures like Candyman, these films deserved more time to flesh out their characters and develop their plots. Some audiences might not like having to sit still in theaters, but it would've been worth it for these movies to improve in quality.
