What’s new on Apple TV+ this month (April 2025)
Jon Hamm in a tuxedo leaning against a bar at a swanky event talking to another man in a tux in Your Friends and Neighbors.

Despite an ambitious model that almost exclusively offers original content, Apple TV+ has largely succeeded by betting on itself. The streamer has multiple Oscar and Emmy wins to its name now and is home to one of the best shows on television, Severance. Each month, Apple releases exclusive shows and movies featuring some of Hollywood's most in-demand talent, and we keep you up to date with all of it with this roundup.
This April, Jon Hamm and David Oyelowo take center stage, starring in Your Friends and Neighbors and Government Cheese, respectively. But that's just the start of what's new on Apple TV+ this month.

What’s new on HBO and Max in April 2025
Pedro Pascal in The Last of Us season 2.

HBO and Max have unexpectedly added a very large selection of classic movies in April. That's going to appeal primarily to the film buffs in your life. There are a handful of recent indie flicks coming as well, including the Nicole Kidman erotic thriller Babygirl and the sci-fi comedy Y2K, which imagines what would have happened if the Y2K bug had been as serious as everyone feared it would be.

The Last of Us season 2 and Hacks season 4 are also giving HBO and Max's original programming a strong shot in the arm for the month. But don't sleep on The Rehearsal season 2 or Adult Swim's new anime sensation, Lazarus. For younger viewers, Gremlins: The Wild Batch is returning with a new batch of episodes from Season 2B.

What’s new on Paramount+ in April 2025
Ralph Fiennes in The Return.

Christopher Nolan may be making The Odyssey through the rest of this year, but Paramount+ features a different take on the classic tale in April 2025. The Return, an epic film that had a very limited theatrical release last year, adapts the final chapter in The Odyssey, with Ralph Fiennes as an older Odysseus. The warrior king has become a broken man after two decades away, but he'll have to fight to reclaim his kingdom and his wife, Penelope (Juliette Binoche).
Another little-seen gem, The Last Stop in Yuma County, is joining Paramount+'s movie library this month. This film is a neo-Western set in the '70s, and it may be cult classic material. Some of the other highlights this month include An Evening with Elton John and Brandi Carlile, and new episodes of MobLand, which will run throughout the month.
Some of the most enticing additions to this month's movie library are exclusive to Paramount+ with Showtime. Paramount+'s lower tiers get everything else. Keep that in mind when looking over our roundup of everything new on Paramount+ in April 2025. The shows and movies below marked with an asterisk (*) are only available on Paramount+ with Showtime. Titles marked with a double asterisk (**) can be live-streamed from CBS by Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers. Our picks for the month are in bold.

And if you subscribe to other streaming services, we also have helpful guides to the best new shows to stream, the best shows on Netflix, the best movies streaming on Amazon, and the best TV shows streaming on Amazon.
