Christian Cawley

Former Evergreen Coordinator
Author/Co-Author of 1 article

Christian Cawley is an Evergreen Coordinator at Digital Trends, specifically in the computing section. This means he reads a lot of the site (if not all of it) to help ensure the articles we produce are up to date, and link to other articles that are similarly current and relevant.

With a background in desktop support and software support at various organizations, Christian has extensive knowledge of computing and mobiles. He began writing professionally about technology in 2008, with articles in numerous publications, online and in print. These include Android Magazine, Linux User & Developer, Linux Format, Tech Radar, Tom's Hardware, Computer Active, and Matter Alpha. From 2014-2024, he was a section editor and later deputy editor at MakeUseOf, where he also produced and hosted over 200 episodes of the Really Useful Podcast.

Over the years, Christian has attended press launches for video games, product launches for hardware, and been taken on tours around computer production facilities. When not writing guides and reviews, he occasionally finds the time to interview interesting people and investigate the impact of technology on people's lives - good and bad.

Christian has a love of old video games, mainly those on the C64, Amiga, and MS-DOS, expressed through his own website, Gaming Retro. Meanwhile his podcast, Kasterborous, launched in 2007 and discusses old TVs and movies. He also posts semi-regularly on Substack on the topic of freelance writing and the threat of generative AI. Oh and he sometimes has the time to review tech (mostly dashcams) on his YouTube channel, The Gadget Monkey.

When he's not shaping articles, Christian is a dad to three dancers, collects Lego, and is an avid home chef.
