BioWare’s ‘Anthem’ won’t charge you for post-launch story content
During PAX West 2018, BioWare revealed that story-based downloadable content in its upcoming online RPG Anthem will be free. This is a different approach than the similar game Destiny 2 has taken. Anthem launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 22, alongside Days Gone and Metro: Exodus.

Electronic Arts and Dice have offered us more information on the battle royale mode in Battlefield V. Called "Firestorm," it seems ready to take on the biggest games in the battle royale genre. Battlefield V releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 20, and a beta is running right now.
Free ‘NBA 2K19: The Prelude’ mode lets you start your basketball career now
2K Games has released NBA 2K19: The Prelude, a free prologue for the game that includes access to the beginning of the story-focused MyCareer mode. The full game is out on September 11 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch, and the Switch version will be largely identical to the others.
‘Battlefield V’ pushed back to November, but you can play the beta next week
Electronic Arts and Dice have decided to delay Battlefield V by more than a month. The game was previously scheduled to arrive in October on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The beta still kicks off in September, and pre-loading for the beta begins on September 3. Those who pre-ordered the game can play the beta early.
‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ special edition includes snazzy Pro Controller
Nintendo has revealed the special edition for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The bundle includes the game in a steel book case, and a special Pro Controller with the series' signature design. The controller will also be sold on its own for $75, and the game will support GameCube controllers via an adapter.
For $22 a month, an Xbox One system could soon be yours
Microsoft now has a new way to offer players an Xbox One S or X and it's called the Xbox All Access service. For a monthly fee over two years, you get the console and subscriptions to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold. The price will be higher if choosing the Xbox One X, and it's only available in Microsoft Stores.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, the latest expansion to Blizzard's long-running online game, has broken franchise records for first-day sales. The record was previously held by 2016's Legion expansion, which sold well over 3 million units in one day. Battle for Azeroth is available now on PC and Mac.
Amazon is killing off Prime’s new-game, pre-order discount
Amazon is ending its 20-percent discount on pre-ordered games for its Prime members later this month, instead offering a small voucher for a select number of pre-ordered games. Previous orders won't be affected. Remastered games and special editions had already been ineligible for the program.

Hitman 2 will give players the option to replay the first game's missions, complete with gameplay enhancements, and they'll be free to anyone who already purchased the original game. Hitman 2 hits Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 13, and it won't use an episodic release model.
